The European Union strongly supports the process of public administration reform in Serbia. This support has lasted continuously since 2000, with more than 200 million euros invested in the professionalization of administration, the development of electronic services, public financial management, but also in improving the work of local governments and independent institutions.

Since 2016, the EU has set aside 80 million euros to support public administration reforms, of which 70 million are for direct budget support, and 10 million euros for complementary professional support. Public administration reform is one of the most prominent examples of the European Union's support for Serbia, which could be seen during the emergency situation caused by the COVID-19 virus pandemic, because that support positively affected the administration's ability to react in time and adapt to the new situation. work in.
