Sustainable partnership

Just for the health sector, everything the EU has done for Serbia in the last 20 years is of fundamental importance for the functioning of the system which exists today.

EU has donated more than EUR 200 million and gave credits in the amount of EUR 250 million so that the system of health protection in Serbia would become stronger. That is the basis which will help Serbia in overcoming the COVID-19 virus.

The EU has equipped hospitals, laboratories, public health institutions and blood transfusion institutes and has secured 252 ambulances for health centers across Serbia, of which 122 were delivered with ventilators/respirators, which are crucial in the battle against the COVID-19 virus. The EU has donated EUR 8.7 million just for that project.
