Applications for "Paint me the Future of Europe" initiative are officially closed. After the jury session, the artists whose sketches will be presented on the mural in Novi Sad were selected. The renowned jury was represented by Lazar Sakan, director of New Moment Gallery, Tijana Palkovljević Bugarski, Ph.D., Director of the Gallery of Matica Srpska, Nikola Dzafo, conceptual creator and visual artist together with two members of the EU Delegation to Serbia. The selected artists are:
Andrej Josifovski – Pijanista, Serbia
Pijanista is an artist recognized for numerous performances on the streets of Belgrade, Europe, and the world. He is a rebellious street artist, urbanism and at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade. This fighter for unpolluted living and digital space does not hesitate to engage us with important social problems and push the boundaries of street performance through his striking and uncompromising style. Artistic diversions such as the Crucified Jesus Christ on the traffic cameras of the Belgrade crossroads, a floating portrait made of plastic bottles for "Save our home" World Rivers Day, a mural by Novak Djokovic, the Golden Age series, and a glowing phallus in front of the City Assembly are just some of his projects that have "left“ strong artistic footprint. Due to his transmedia approach which enables him to transmit his street art pieces to the digital world with equal success, his Instagram profile was declared the Top50 - best online content for 2021. As part of the author's team, he represented the Republic of Serbia at the 16th Biennale of Architecture in Venice. He is the winner of numerous awards, among which stands out, in particular, the award of the 43rd Salon of Architecture in the field of experiment and research.
Giacomo Zecci, Italy
He is passionate about history and literature, speaks four languages and is a tour guide in his native Bologna. He is engaged in photography, analogy, digital drawing, and paints murals. After a bachelor's in classics and some experiences in the archeological field, he ends up finishing art studies in illustration at ISIA Urbino. Therefore in his artistic research, some concepts are important such as culture, tradition, and rethinking freedom. He loves working with children doing workshops and collaborating with other artists in exhibitions.
Sanja Simoska, North Macedonia
who enjoys painting murals. She is a member of the art collective Kula from Skopje, where, along with other visual artists and musicians, addresses the environmental problems of polluted air in her city. "It's easier to breathe underground" is a multimedia festival of the association of which she is a member and where she has exhibited her works for five years in a row.
Giulia Chiari, Italy
The multi-talented Giulia Chiari is an illustrator with an adventurous spirit who loves plants and nature. She has organized numerous creative workshops for children in Italy and on her travels in South America, and with her ecological engagement in the "Organic Horticultural Project" she revived self-production in an abandoned Italian village she graduated Academy of Fine Arts and presented her work at exhibitions throughout Italy.
Marko Vujišić, North Macedonia
studied art in Skopje and Belgrade, and so far he has had the opportunity to present his paintings and prints and even Malmö in Sweden. He won the award for graphics from the Agency for Youth and Sports in 2018. He is looking forward to every new opportunity
Pavle Ćurčić, Serbia
Pavle Ćurčić is a young painter who studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade - he enjoys designing art installations, dealing with multimedia, painting murals, and enjoying humanitarian work. He believes that a strong concept must be simple and provocative to be on the path. He is most interested in environmental topics, and in 2019 he won the First Prize for a poster on nature conservation and biodiversity.
Mišo Joskić, Montenegro
sound and darker aesthetics, and he gladly provokes peace with his murals and sends anti-war messages. He strives to always provide a different dimension on important environmental issues, listens to his creative instinct, and does not compromise with his inspiration. He had the opportunity to exhibit independently in Podgorica and Novi Sad - he is excited about the new opportunity to visit and create again in this year's European Capital of Culture!
Francesco Dinaj, Albania
Francesco Dinaj is a Specialist in mural arts and an observer and guide at the Gallery of the Academy of Arts in Tirana. He participated in the organization of the Mural Fest in his hometown in cooperation with the American Embassy for several years in a row. He has several exhibitions in cooperation with EUROPA HOUSE and UN WOMEN ALBANIA, and his murals are on the walls of cities outside of his homeland.
