In the organisation of the project Support to the Commission for State Aid Control, a workshop entitled “For state aid that develops Serbia” was held in Novi Sad on Thursday, 17 September 2020.
The workshop was attended by employees of the Novi Sad City Assembly. The topics covered by the project team experts and participants were state aid registration procedure, the review of state aid for local infrastructure and a guidance on how to write a state aid program/scheme.
The goals of the project and the results achieved so far were presented by the project leader Radmila Mihić. The key legal expert of the project Šefika Kurtagić elaborated the issue of state aid for local infrastructure, recalling the four criteria for determining whether the aid granted should be considered state aid.
The legal expert of the project, Svetlana Šćepanović Markočević presented to the participants the new Law on State Aid Control, as well as the procedures and rules in the process of granting state aid.
Another project’s legal expert Aleksandar Ristić held presentation on how to write a state aid scheme, using examples from Serbia and Croatia.
Novi Sad is the eighth city in Serbia to be the host of a workshop or local conference entitled “For state aid that develops Serbia”, which is one of the key messages of the project.
The two-year EU-funded project Support to the Commission for State Aid Control started in February 2019, with a budget of EUR 999,000.
