sports and you want to be a part of Europe, the European Union has designed a
support programme for you as well. Within the Erasmus+ Programme in the field
of sports, the EU encourages the development of the European dimension in
sports, especially amateur sports.
The new generation of the
Erasmus+ Programme (2021-2027) promotes the mobility of sports staff for the
purpose of cooperation, learning, inclusion, raising quality, creativity and
innovation at the level of sports organizations and sports policies.
In the sports component of the
Erasmus + Programme, the emphasis is on the international projects that deal
with the inclusion of the general population in sports and physical activities,
the promotion of healthy lifestyles among all generations.
Also, the goal is to raise the
level of participation in physical activities that serve to maintain and
improve health. This sports part of the programme also aims to promote integrity
and values in sport, help education, raise awareness of volunteering and
enable coaches, managers and others from non-profit sports organisations to
share their experience with European partners.
One of the goals is to fight
against negative phenomena in sports, such as violence, racism, intolerance and
discrimination.
Every year, until March, those who
are interested can submit project proposals in the field of sports. This year's
budget amounted to 51,9 million euros, and refers to four areas: Partnerships
for Cooperation in the field of sports, Small-scale Partnerships in the
field of sports, Capacity Building in the field of sports and non-profit
European sporting events.
From next year, 2023, the calls
related to mobility in sports will be open as well.
