Summary
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Serbia will be supported through existing and newly established business incubators (BIs) which will provide services to SMEs by improving demand quality and providing new value added services.
The BIs will focus on innovative, high-tech start-ups, with high growth potential and reducing unemployment of youth, women and other vulnerable groups.
The project activities will be implemented in the Serbian University centres (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Kragujevac, Subotica) to strengthen their capacity in providing high value added services for start-ups with high growth potential. Also, existing incubators outside these University centres will be supported to provide more general services for start-ups.
The SMEs will be supported to create high added value products and services to increase their competitiveness in the global market and their export potential. These services should include innovation management counselling, product development services, networking with potential clients and/or investors, protection and development of intellectual property (IP) rights, counselling regarding market replication/market penetration, internationalisation, etc.
