Summary
The EU has been assisting Serbian institutions to align national legislation with the Acquis through the Policy and Legal Advice Centre (PLAC), ensuring the uninterrupted progress of the accession negotiations.
The continuation of the PLAC project will target those areas of negotiations where there is a significant volume of the Acquis, and with specific features of national legislation and systems.
The project will address the specific needs from the accession negotiations process and focus on achieving the benchmarks set by the EU for certain chapters, which include the adoption of certain pieces of legislation, strategies and/or action plans, proper implementation and effective enforcement of legislation, and fulfilling contractual obligations towards the EU.
High quality expertise and direct transfer of know-how will be provided to national staff dealing with legislative harmonisation, through targeted advice, guidance and recommendations of cost-effective implementation mechanisms and sustainable solutions.
