Serbia Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer Project

Summary

Scientific community in Serbia is a priceless national resource. Despite modest financial support from the national budget and almost non-existing participation of the private sector, Serbian scientists have already given an above average contribution to world science.

To support Serbian scientific community, the Serbia Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer Project is helping the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development to further boost research and development (R&D), innovation and to pilot a system of technology transfer in order to foster a knowledge-based economy. The main goal is to increase efficiency of future investments in research and innovation.

As part of the activities, a new financial grant instrument shall co-finance joint R&D projects between academic R&D and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in new products, services and technologies. Their joint initiatives to develop new commercially applicable intellectual property such as innovative products, services, technologies and processes will also be supported.
