Strengthening capacities of Criminal Police Department and Special Prosecutor’s Office in combating cyber-crime

Summary

Cybercrime is becoming an increasing problem in Serbia, including online child sexual abuse. The EU supports Serbian institutions with ensuring a safe environment for Serbian citizens, as part of a more secure Europe.

The project will strengthen human, technical and legal capacities of the Cybercrime Police Department and the Special Prosecution, through internships in the EU countries and specialised training (malicious software research, tools and techniques for preventing cybercrime, computer forensics, Intelligence Support System for Lawful Interception, Electronic Surveillance and Cyber Intelligence Gathering).  

A strategy and action plan to combat cybercrime will be developed based on the assessment of current situation and threats,. The project will also raise awareness on cybercrime through cooperation with private companies, academic Institutions, NGOs and prominent IT experts.
