Creative Drive

Project goal

The main objective of the project is introducing the practice of media and informational literacy into the existing systems of primary and secondary education in Serbia as a form of functional literacy of the citizens in the democratic society of the 21st century.
The project also has the objective of developing the critical thinking of the students, as well as the creativity and interactivity in schools.

Focus groups:

1. Elementary and secondary school teachers
2. School librarians
3. Students

Activities

The realization of the project will take 3 years and it has been planned to involve 10 elementary and 10 secondary schools from Serbia.

    The activities which will be realized within the project are the following:

    1. Professional training seminars for teachers

    2. Media literacy summer camps for teachers and students

    3. Creative skills festivals-presentation of the creative works of the students at the festival in Belgrade

    4. Transformation of school libraries into info libraries and centers for creativity – seminars for librarians

    5. Study trips (at the end of the project) to European countries for developing the cooperation with other schools

    An online platform which incorporates the work materials for teachers as well as the creative works of students of elementary and secondary schools in Serbia, has been created within the project. This portal serves as a resource centre of work materials, ideas and informative texts on the topic of media literacy.

    The realization of the project “Digital drive’’ is supported by the European Union Delegation within the “Civil Society Facility and Media Programme 2016-2017’’, and the activities realized during the first year were co-financed within the “Civil Society for advancing the accession of Serbia to the European Union” project, which is realized in partnership with the Belgrade Open School and with the support of Sweden and The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe – the OSCE mission in Serbia. The Office for Cooperation with civil society of the Serbian Government has co-financed the project, as well.
